Indelible 05:04
I maimed your being, I scarred your fate
I’m the one you don’t even want to say the name anymore
There is so much to be forgiven
That I do not even ask you to try
I have been a tormentor when I should have been a protector
The broken glass, the ethyl vapes
I still have it in mind

If you could proclaim the abolishment of past errors
Would you erase all that has failed ?
If you could condemn all those crimes unnamed
Would you abort all I have bred ?

I find no peace, I find no way to atone
And I know you are unable to hate me how I should be
For there is no way to remove the stain I left on you for some oblivious moments
I have caused you so much harm when it was so easy to act differently
The helplessness, the guilt and shame
I still have them in me
2.
He was prematurely fatherless
And before long sent to the Oratory school
 The strict education administered
Led him to challenge law, rules, rigour and constraints

He furbished his weapons in an unachieved play
And blasphemous verse almost led him to jail
 The reformatory days remained untold
But surely fed the need to question tyranny
Everything around us must change and end For everything around us is unjust Scorn nothing, imitate nothing Of what has gone before us Thus we’ll found an empire With genius, justice and truth

Seasons in the fields of Aisne alongside the underprivileged
 Shaped an uncompromising mind
And, through the ongoing revolution, it soon became clear
The foes of the Republic had to be terrorized

His merciless rhetoric, as a blade, Was the cement of his savage indictment The crowned usurper was sentenced to death Giving way to a growing virtue

3.
Arrogance and self-complacency To the point of absurdity We are too many to move forward We are too few to make a difference The horizon crumbles silently
As we rehearse our own extinction There is no turning back But another end is still in reach
Consider the path left to walk There is no reason to fail Now it is up to all of us To leave with dignity
 Desperately locked in our certainties
Doubt, a forgotten virtue We have come to regret the future We have come to prefer nothingness The horizon crumbles suddenly There has come the century of threats
Shrouding vain aeons We will come to the end
Defeated by our selfishness Agonizing slowly In that scenery of desolation
4.
Your little heart beats against mine Now that I hold you in my arms You are so sweet, so frail I marvel at all your progress but you’re growing so fast Often I’m scared, I’m worried about you What future are we building in this world that does not go round ? I wish you all the happiness in the world Hoping you’ll tell me all your little secrets I’ll be the ears that listen to you, The arms that console you, I will always take care of you, I will love you whatever happens I will wait late, until you come back home I will cry when you are sad, Because I love you, my daughter
5.
Soulless 05:29
There has come the trial that will seal our common fate We are drowning in the sands of time as symptoms keep on growing
Yet we knew there was no second chance, we wasted quite consciously The only possibility we had to make the world a better place O Morbus, claim your own and die with it O Morbus, you are taking it all from me
O Morbus, prince of pain and tears
I already feel your absence here in the cruelest way To know how you are suffering is a constant agony for me What could’ve been a mere transition to another state of living
Will finally mark your passage to a world of never-ending peace
And now I realize
I see you fade and I’d like to perish To follow you to the other side I cannot see beyond A pall has fallen from heaven And makes me blind Sunlight looks so cold I don’t have the strength anymore To stare at you in that soulless white room But I do not forget the promise we had made To each other when the future shone bright

6.
A procession of stripped and shivering emaciated bodies Defiling in pestilence on a fenced path, with eyes of scared animals There floats in the air an acrid smell that makes you retch Because of pyres burning day and night The feeling that the end is near rises even stronger
At the sight of a pale house with no windows The earth, the heavens, merge into the greyness The life we knew expires in silence The fields and bare trees resemble the limbo That place made of dread and contemplation Neither time nor distance are of importance here So let’s be elegant in front of nothingness The unknown we feared is here and now, on that cold foreign soil Dog bites, gun shots and whipping to frighten you and make you run faster Mass graves gaping wide, looking like what we’d been told of hell Forbidding the faintest glimmer of hope That is the time when you realize prayers are vain The future ceases to be for all is very real
7.
A last breath and a silent farewell before dawn You have fallen asleep before the chaos to come But from the womb of war to the hideous present It has been a benevolent and peaceful journey Now lies a veil over all our memories The light has been turned off The door has been walled up Things are beautiful For they don’t last forever You have taken away a blissful share of eternity
No matter the fame, the riches or the glory Only the good we have made will radiate And even though it was not your will Now there remains only a bitter feeling But I would love to believe in a place Where you have joined those you cherished
8.
As far as my memories take me back Things were obvious, our path had been mapped out You refused to see, refused to hear What contradicted your certainties You refused to admit, refused to accept What the frame we live in really is We are nothing but dead leaves We dance, we twirl, then we turn to dust Earth swallows us in silence And the enigma remains unresolved Nothing changed for you Nothing changed for me And it will remain that way Yet we already knew the end result Your world has now come to an end No solace in being right or wrong Our values broken to smithereens In general indifference Far away from that deafening noise Far away from exhaustion Far away from that blinding life Far away from our decline And now it is too late, way too late
You are far from all that Hopefully at peace with yourself For I will never be at peace here
